I knew the time would come, but I never thought it would come THIS fast. I can’t believe I only have 21 days left here. It’s so crazy! A lot’s happened in the last couple weeks. First off, we had our very own traditional Thanksgiving (a week early) complete with a turkey, pumpkin pie and everything else related to this great American holiday. Altogether we had about 30 or so of us crammed into Neil’s apartment. Everyone dressed up and it was so much fun to have my family away from home celebrate Thanksgiving with me.
I made Mom’s famous home-made macaroni and cheese, which I’m not gonna lie, was the star of the dinner. I ate so much by the end of the night I couldn’t even move. All in all, it was amazing. Last weekend we were supposed to go to Portugal, but unfortunately plans fell through and I won’t be making it there this time. Next time for sure
These past few weeks I have a couple things planned. This weekend I’m going to Madrid and next weekend my host family is throwing a good-bye party for me and then it’s my last weekend here. Frankly, I don’t really want to think about it. Although I am sad to be leaving this amazing life, I am also super excited to see all of my friends and family back home. I’ve missed you all so much, you have no idea. As soon as I get home, it’s sleeping for a few days and then off to a cabin in Mt. Shasta to spend Christmas with the whole family. So happy to finally get to meet my niece!
We’re supposed to spend all of Christmas day snowboarding…but we’ll see if that happens. Haha, being as the fact that last time I went I cried/slid on my belly the whole way down the hill…and this was only a couple of years ago. Needless to say, it will be a fun, much needed family vacation (even though I feel like I’ve been on vacation for almost four months now.)
As far as school goes, I only have 10 days left!!!!! And then, I’m done forever. Never thought this day would come! Pretty much these next few weeks are going to be jammed packed with tests/projects/papers…ugh!
Anyway, I’m really excited to go to Madrid this weekend. One of my friends went this past weekend and she said that the whole downtown is lit up with Christmas lights and trees. I love this time of year more than anything! Until then, I’m just studying for one of my tests I have tomorrow and finishing a project that’s due next week.
Until next time, which will most likely be the last time, un beso grande!
